Odisha e-healthcare Facility – For doctor shortage in the Odisha, technology adviser to the state government Sam Pitroda draw special attention to use of information technology in healthcare sector.
Odisha government has decided to constitute a working committee for work out a plan for linking healthcare centres under telemedicine network within six weeks.
Meeting with chief secretary A P Padhi and other senior officers, he discussed linking of all district headquarters hospitals, medical colleges and other major hospitals under telemedicine network. He also pitched for issuing electronic health card to the people of the state.
“The e-healthcare facility would solve the doctor shortage problem to some extent. People from far off places would also get quality healthcare with the help of technology,” said a senior officer in the IT department.
