Konark is a medium town in the Puri locale in the province of Odisha, India. It lies on the coast by the Cove of Bengal, 65 kilometers from the capital of the state, Bhubaneswar. It is the site of the thirteenth century Sun Sanctuary, otherwise called the Dark Pagoda, worked in dark rock during the rule of Narasinghadeva-I. The sanctuary is a World Legacy Site. The sanctuary is presently generally in ruins, and an assortment of its figures is housed in the Sun Sanctuary Gallery, which is controlled by the Archeological Overview of India.
Konark is likewise home to a yearly dance celebration called Konark Dance Celebration, gave to old style Indian dance structures, including the conventional traditional dance of Odisha, Odissi.
