Raja celebrations began in Odisha with girls celebrating the festival by wearing new clothes, playing on decorated swings and eating pithas.
Traditional pithas being focus of the three-day festival, many restaurants in the city are hosting Raja food and a variety of sweets, the most popular of them being Poda Pitha.
fact, modernity has not yet taken the charm out of traditional Raja delicacies. The working women prefer purchasing pithas to bake at home.
Raja Doli is a major attraction of the festivity and in different parts of the city, decorated swings have been put up and various games typical to the festival are being organised.
