Swadha Mohanty from a Class XII student from Ispat English Medium School, Rourkela in Oidsha has brought laurels for the city and the State by securing top position in a national-level painting competition among schoolchildren recently, which was organised by the Associations of Schools for the Indian School Certificates (ASISC) at Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
Swadha Mohanty was the only contestant from Odisha. She was honored with a citation and a trophy. Her father Radheshyam Mohanty works as a Senior Manager at the Rourkela Steel Plant.
Swadha Mohanty is very well known in the artistic field of Odisha. She has also the recipient of prestigious award of Lalit Kala Akademi fro her excellence in Art. Apart from painting, Swadha has mastered the art of glass painting, pottery, craft activities, doll making and lot more.
