5th Odia Filmfare Awards Declared

The 5th Odia Filmfare award function was held recently at Utkal Mandap, Bhubaneswar.

The event awarded the best in 32 categories across the Ollywood industry on last Friday evening.

This was the first time in the Odia FIlm fare history in which the contribution of spot boys and art directors towards the making of a movie was recognized with awards. In these four decades, he has acted in over 400 movies, dramas and operas.

Some of the best works of Jayee Bhai include- Jajabara, AeJugara Krishna Sudama and Jagga Balia to name a few.

Sabyasachi and Archita seized the best actor and actress award respectively for their lead role in ‘Smile Please’.

Renowned actor Minaketan, known for his roles as the antagonist, won the Best Villain award.

Harihar Mohapatrawon the Best Actor in a comic role, Bijay Mohanty was announced as the Best Actor in a character role and Pushpa Panda was awarded the Best Actress in a character role award.

Bikash Das and Sushant Mani were adjudged the Best Music Director and Best Director respectively.

Keshari talkies at Bhuaneswar won the Best Cinema Hall award, which was also introduced for the first time this year.

Subala Moharana and team created a sand art in the memory of legendary actor and director late Hara Patnaik.

The 5th Odia Filmfare Awards also organized a special program called ‘Asha o Biswas’for kids suffering from cancer and Rs 1, 00,000 was donated towards their welfare.

Prince Dance Group and artists from Odisha and West Bengall performed their dance and cultural skills in the starry evening.Singer Bagmi Bhattacharya, Aviram Anwesha, Antara Chakraborty and Satyajit Pradhanalso performed at the Odia Filmfare stage.

The function was star studded with the presence of Ollywood celebrities along with GS Patnaik, MD, St Xavier’s School; Ullas Chandra Behur, Founder, Odia Filmfare Awards; Bapu Lenka, Jagananda Tripathy and other dignitaries.

“Smile please” swept the event night, as it won the categories under Best actor, Best actress, Best singer and many other awards.
