Chandipur Beach

Chandipur, also known as Chandipur-on-sea, is a small sea resort in Balasore District, Odisha, India. The resort is on the Bay of Bengal and is approximately 16 kilometers from the Balasore Railway Station. The beach is unique in that the water recedes from 1 to 4 kilometers during the ebb tide. Due to the unique circumstances, the beach supports bio-diversity. Horseshoe crab is also found here on the beach towards Mirzapur, the nearby fishing market and community at the confluence of the Budhabalanga River(Balaramgadi).It is a suitable picnic spot.Panthanivas (govt odisha) is also situated here. Some hotels also available for tourist to stay. The sunrise and sunset of Chandipur is very beautiful to enjoy.

Khirachora Gopinatha Temple

Khirachora Temple is 9 Km from Balasore *
Khirachora Gopinatha Temple is in Remuna. It is a little town 9 km east of Balasore, about halfway between Howrah and Bhubaneswar in Odisha. The name “Remuna” is from the word “Ramaniya” which means very good-looking. “Khirachora” in Oriya means Stealer of Milk and Gopinatha means the Divine Consort of Gopis. The reference is to child Krishna’s love for milk and milk products. Pilgrims from all over India visit all around the year. Local residents visit on every occasion and festivals.

Panchalingeshwar

Panchalingeshwar is 30 Km from Balasore *
Panchalingeshwar Temple is in Balasore district of Odisha. It named after the five Shivalinga that are enshrined inside. The temple is on top of a hillock near the Nilagiri hill. The Shivalingas are said to have been enshrined by Sita, the wife of Lord Rama during their exile. Another story holds that King Banasura worshiped the Swayambhu Lingas at this place given its beauty. A perennial stream, which is the main attraction of the area, regularly washes the Shivalingas as it flows over them. To reach to the temple one has to lie flat on the rock parallel to the stream to touch and worship the lingas inside the water stream.

Chandaneswar

Chandaneshwar is famous for a Shiva temple in Chandaneswar, Balasore, Odisha. The holy shrine of Lord Chandaneswar is a religious centre for the people of not only the district of Balasore but also of places adjacent. It is a unique sight to see the devotees flock together in hundreds everyday and in thousands on festive occasions Pana Sankranti, the first day of the Oriya calendar, is celebrated on the premises. A large number of pilgrimages from all over the country visit the temple during this period. About 4 km from Chandaneswar and 4 km from Digha in West Bengal is the tranquil beach at Talasari, surrounded by casuarina groves. A jeep drive on the beach to negotiate both the places is a pleasant and memorable experience.
