Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary in Nuapada district will soon be developed into eco-tourism hub. Sunabeda divisional forest officer has been given Proposal to the government to develop the Patora and Maraguda sites. Wildlife Sanctuary spread over 600 sq km area and full of steep terrains and waterfalls, can be developed as one of the top eco-tourism sites in the state.
Maraguda is a valley known for archaeological remains. Located below the sanctuary, it boasts of a huge natural water body, where migratory birds throng during winter.
Patora, the wildlife wing has planned to introduce boating and create trekking paths in buffer areas, both at Patora and Maraguda so that tourists get a feel of the rich biodiversity of the region.
