Started as a monthly from Cuttack in 1941 with Nabakishor Das as its editor. The magazine tried to present a picture of Odisha touching upon different aspects. It tried to address the problems of Odia speaking areas that remained outside the state of Odisha. It also discussed industrialisation, archaeological research, tribal life incontext of Odisha. Many nationalistic essays are to be found on its pages.
