Born on January 10, 1898. A student of Satyabadi Bana Bidyalaya, Godabarish was inspired by Utkalamani Gopabandhu, Acharya Harihar and others. He participated in the freedom movement. Mohapatra was associated with press, he was the founding editor of Niankhunta. A poet and writer of short stories, Mahapatra was a recipient of the Central Sahitya Academy Award. He died on November 25, 1965.
