A contractual cameraman of the Defence Research Development Organisation’s (DRDO) Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur, district of Balasore in Odisha has been arrested for charge of spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.
The police team has seized two computer disks, two mobile handsets and a bank passbook from Ishwar Chandra Behera, the person employed as a contractual cameraperson and had been spying for ISI from the last 8-10 months.
“We had put him under surveillance after getting intelligence inputs about his suspicious activities. After we took him into custody and interrogated him, he confessed to passing on sensitive information about missile tests to the agent who recruited him,” eastern range police inspector general Asit Panigrahi said.
