- Beetroot 2 cut into small pieces or grated
- Onion 1 chopped
- Green chili 1chopped
- Curry leaves few
- Mustard seeds ½ tsp
- Asafetida /hing a pinch
- Chana dal 1tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil 2tbsp
- Fry masala 1tbsp:- (1tbsp coriander seeds, dry red chili 2, bay leave1piece, cinnamon stick 1inch, coconuts dry 2-3 pieces or grated1tbsp) roasted it lightly also grind them coarsely powder.
Process of Cooking
Heat the oil in a pan; add the mustard seeds sauté it till crackly.
Then add Chana dal & sauté it till golden colour.
Then add curry leaves, hing, green chili, onion & sauté it for 1-2 minutes on a medium flame.
Then add beetroot pieces, salt with masala powder & sauté it well. Then close the lid for 4-5 minutes on a low flame. Then remove the lid & sauté it again close lid beetroot are tender.
Then open the lid & sauté till it dry moisture. Turn off the flame.
Now ready to serve.
